Video: Group Releases Rehabbed Seal into Bay

Students from Cordello Elementary School ventured to Hampton Bays to give Mecah, a yearling seal, a grand send-off.

Students from Cordello Elmentary in Central Islip traveled to Hampton Bays on Monday to observe the release of Mecah, a yearling seal that they adopted and have been monitoring the progress of. Students carried signs  they made for the release to wish Mecah luck in her journey.

Mecah was brought to The Riverhead Foundation For Marine Research and Preservation in March when she was found in Water Mill unresponsive and severely underweight.
