Top 10 Pets of the Week

The Southampton Animal Shelter has many loving pets for adoption. Here is a list of the top ten pets that Hampton Bays Patch has featured.

In Patch's effort to help the dogs and cats at the Southampton Animal Shelter find homes, we post a weekly column that features an animal that needs a home. The following is photo journal of the top ten pets that we have featured. Among them is this week's pet Dolly.

According to Donald Bambrick, animal shelter supervisor, Dolly is a five-year-old Dalmation mix who was found sick, starved and roaming the woods in Hampton Bays.

"She's been at the shelter since June and has recovered from her homelessness," said Bambrick.  "Now, she wants to find a home for the holidays."

There are currently 50 dogs and 98 cats available for adoption at the shelter. If Dolly is not the type of pet you are looking for, there are plenty of other animals that need love and care.

All animals are licensed, up to date on their vaccinations, micro-chipped and have been spayed or neutered, according to Bambrick.

Adoption fees range from between $40 - $60 for a cat and $60 and $125 for a dog.
