PHOTOS: Sea of Green in Westhampton Beach For Annual Parade
On Saturday, the 45th annual St. Patrick's Day Parade lured hundreds to Westhampton Beach's Main Street
Irish eyes were smilin’ in Westhampton Beach Saturday for the 45th annual St. Patrick’s Day parade on Main Street. Hundreds of spectators braved brisk winds and seasonally chilly temperatures on the green-lined parade route in the village but sunny skies added warmth to the festivities.
"It’s a little cold, but we’re having a great time,” said Sam Mangiaracina, a third-grader who represented Raynor Country Day School, along with about 30 other children and their parents, on the school’s float, which took home second prize for “Best Youth Float.”
Longtime local resident and community activist Michael Pitcher served as the parade’s Grand Marshal this year, and its theme, "A Home for Everyone" was reflected in many of the floats that were presented, such as the winner of the Youth Float category, Westhampton’s own Boy Scout Troop 62.
