This week, the Southampton Animal Shelter is looking to find a home for Zoe, a 10-year-old tuxedo who has been at the shelter for a year, waiting patiently for her adoption.
According to Donald Bambrick, the animal shelter supervisor, Zoe's adoption fee has been waived as part of a program that provides free adoption and 6 months worth of free food and medical care to cats that have been at the shelter for over a year.
The promotion, he said, runs until the end of January.
"Zoe would love to start packing her bags," Bambrick said.
All animals are licensed, up to date on their vaccinations, micro-chipped and have been spayed or neutered, according to Bambrick.
Adoption fees typically range from $40 to $60 for a cat and from $60 to $125 for a dog.
To adopt Zoe or any of the other animals available for adoption, call the shelter at 631-728-7387 or visit them at 102 Old Riverhead Road in Hampton Bays.
