This week, the is looking to find a home for Chance, a 4-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix who has been at the shelter since February.
According to Donald Bambrick, the animal shelter supervisor, Chance has done well in basic obedience and is quite athletic and energetic.
"He is selective with his dog friends and is looking for a home without cats," Bambrick said.
All animals are licensed, up to date on their vaccinations, micro-chipped and have been spayed or neutered, according to Bambrick.
Adoption fees typically range from $40 to $60 for a cat and from $60 to $125 for a dog.
To adopt Chance or any of the other animals available for adoption, call the shelter at 631-728-7387 or visit them at 102 Old Riverhead Road in Hampton Bays.
