Southampton Pet of the Week: Daphne's Adoption Fee is Waived

The Southampton Animal Shelter has some loving animals available for adoption.

This week, the Southampton Animal Shelter is looking to find a home for Daphne, who has been at the shelter since November 2006 and desperately wants to find her forever “Home for the Holidays” this year.

According to Donald Bambrick, the animal shelter supervisor, the adoption fee for Daphne has been waived as part of the shelter's program to find homes for cats that have been at the shelter for a year or longer.

In addition to waiving Daphne's adoption fee, the shelter will also provide 6 months of food and medical care for Daphne at no charge.

All animals are licensed, up to date on their vaccinations, micro-chipped and have been spayed or neutered, according to Bambrick.

Adoption fees typically range from $40 to $60 for a cat and from $60 to $125 for a dog.
