Resident Starts Petition to Keep Vehicles Off the Beach
The petition comes a week after the Village of Westhampton Beach opened vehicle access at Lashley beach to fishermen.
Just a week after the Village of Westhampton Beache announced that it is now allowing fishermen to drive on Lashley beach during the fall fishing season, at least one resident is urging the village to close off the access again.
On Thursday, Abe Winklby, started a petition on change.org asking residents to sign their names — Winklby is looking to garner at least 100 signatures.
On his petition page, Winklby posted a photo of the beach loaded with vehicle tracks and simply wrote, "you can cite your own reasons, but its near impossible to walk on the beaches now."
