Report: Mostly Private Charters Fly Out of Westhampton’s Gabreski Airport

The Wall Street Journal tracked who flies the most out of Hamptons airports.

The Wall Street Journal reports as part of their Jet Tracker database exactly who is flying in and out of Hamptons airports and how often they are by-passing highway traffic.

The Journal has tracked all private jet flights nationally since 2007. The results for the Hamptons searches show hundreds of different companies, some owned and used privately and others available for charter, making frequent trips to and .

The most frequent flier is Cleveland Browns Transportation, owned by the NFL team of the same name. Owner Randy Lerner, who keeps a large estate and owns a restaurant in Amagansett, has made 390 trips in four years, according to The Journal. He often flies from LaGuardia Airport in Queens or Teterboro in New Jersey.

Musician Jimmy Buffet's corporate jet has made over 80 trips to South Fork airports, while a jet owned by the made over 30 trips. Eli Zabar owns the .

Other frequent fliers include financial firms, large manufacturers and private air transportation companies.

Companies flying into and out of Westhampton Gabreski include NJI, Inc, a nonscheduled private air transportation company, Travel Management CO, a private air charter service and Ampco, Inc, a toilet manufacturer.
