Photos: Rehabilitated Seals, Pumba and Jasmine Released

Also released along with the seals were four turtles.

Two juvenile, rehabilitated seals waddled their way back into the sea on Aug. 8 when they were released by the Riverhead Foundation at 6 p.m. at the Ponquogue Bridge in Hampton Bays. 

Pumba and Jasmine, are both gray seals, who were rescued in April. 

Pumba, a male was found on Apri, 8 in Montauk with a swollen flipper, as well as deep lacerations and Jasmine, a female yearling, was rescued on April 14 in Hampton Bays when she was found suffering from a swollen flipper and respiratory issues.

Also released along with the seals were four turtles — Anchor, a loggerhead sea turtle, was rescued August 29, 2012 in Brooklyn, after swallowing a fishing hook; Bashful, a Kemp's Ridley Sea, who was rescued November 28, 2012 in Hampton Bays because he was cold stunned; Sleepy, a Kemp's Ridley Sea Turtle, who was rescued December 19, 2012 in Stony Brook also from cold stunning; and Grumpy, a loggerhead sea turtle, who was cold stunned sea turtle in Hampton Bays on November 28, 2012.
