San Gennaro Feast Committee Presents Check to Maureen's Haven

$4,000 was given to the non-profit organization.

On Dec. 19, at Scotto's Italian Pork Store in Hampton Bays, members of the San Gennaro Feast of the Hamptons Committee presented a $4,000 check to Maureen's Haven to help with efforts to house the East End's homeless during the winter.

The donated money was raised during the second annual Hampton Bays San Genaro Feast, which drew in thousands of people Columbus Day weekend.

Maureen's Haven will use the money towards its 11-year-old program that provides shelter each night of the week to the homeless. This winter, the program has housed 43 guests a night at area churches that have offered to provide space and volunteers to service the program, which started at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Hampton Bays in 2002.
