PHOTO: Gas Line Forms in Eastport

Storm sends many running out to fill up their tanks.

As winter storm Nemo lurched closer to the region Thursday, locals packed an area gas station in Eastport, causing a line that extended onto the roadway.

The scene at the Valero at 125 County Road 51 came a little more than three months after a gas shortage and power outages caused by Hurricane Sandy led to long, often endless, lines at gas stations.

Other gas lines were reported Thursday by Patch editors in Port Jefferson and Miller Place and on Friday morning, gas stations to the west, started running out of gas. Read more here.
