Pet of the Week: Mari Is a Kitten in Disguise

Bideawee of Westhampton has a number of pets available for adoption.

This week, Bideawee of Westhampton is looking to find a home for Mari, a 2-year and 4-month-old, domestic shorthair mix.

According to Bideawee Adoption Associate Shannon Leonard, at two, Mari has already been through a lot.

"Mari was born in a home with many other cats, and was neglected," he said.

Leonard says she was rescued by the SPCA and brought to Bideawee; however, she suffered a a fracture in her right paw. She has since healed and is now looking for a forever home.

"Often, older cats and larger kittens are overlooked by adopters and unfortunately, Mari has been at Bideawee for some time," said Leonard. "Although Mari is two-years-old, she still acts like a kitten and is very playful."

Leonard says Mari would do well with an active family to spend quality time with her.

The adoption fee for Mari is $150. All of Bideawee’s pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccinations. Bideawee’s pets receive socialization, exercise, behavioral training and other daily activities that let the staff get to know each animal's special personality, to make the best match for you.

To adopt Mari or any other animal, call the Adoption Center at 631-325-0200 or visit them at 118 Old Country Road, Westhampton.
