Pet of the Week: Daphne Was Rescued From an Animal Hoarder

Southampton Animal Shelter has some loving pets for adoption.

This week, the is looking to find a home for Daphne, who has been at the shelter since November 2006. Her adoption fee is being waived as part of the shelter's Black Friday, Black Cat event, which lasts through the weekend.

According to Donald Bambrick, the animal shelter supervisor, Daphne was rescued from a hoarder along with six other cats.

"All the others have been adopted and now Daphne is waiting," Bambrick said.

All animals are licensed, up to date on their vaccinations, micro-chipped and have been spayed or neutered, according to Bambrick.

Adoption fees typically range from $40 to $60 for a cat and from $60 to $125 for a dog.
