Pet of the Week: After Eye Surgery Shaggy Is Ready to Find a Home

The Southampton Animal Shelter has some loving pets for adoption.

This week, the is looking to find a home for Shaggy, a three-year-old Cocker spaniel.

Donald Bambrick, the animal shelter supervisor, said Shaggy came into the shelter as a stray in August.

"He was severely matted, underfed and had cherry eye, a condition that causes the eyelid in the corner of the eye to become inflamed and exposed, interfering with the dog's vision," said Bambrick.

Adoption fees range from $40 to $60 for a cat and from $60 to $125 for a dog.

To adopt Shaggy or any of the other animals, call the shelter at 631-728-7387 or visit 102 Old Riverhead Road in Hampton Bays.
