Op/Ed: School District Extends Thanks To Southampton Kiwanis Club

The district said the Kiwanis Club made over 300 dinners for a fundraising event for the Good Ground Community Garden.

Editor's Note: The following was posted as an announcement on Patch by Joan Moran, coordinator of the Good Ground Community Garden at the Hampton Bays Middle School:

The Hampton Bays School District would like to thank the Southampton Kiwanis Club and President Robert Gill for supporting the Good Ground School Community Garden.

On March 14, the Kiwanis Builder's Club, Key Club, PTO, and the Good Ground Community Garden members held their second annual, "Puttin On The Green Fundraiser." This event helped raise money towards the purchase of a greenhouse for the district.

This is the second year Robert Gill has donated his time and effort preparing over 300 dinners for the event. The Southampton Kiwanis Club has been extremely supportive of our district's green initiatives and continues to be a positive influence for our students and community.
