Oct. 30: An Adopt-A-Thon, A Book Sale and Supermarket Sweepstakes

It's Saturday, and there's plenty to do in Hampton Bays.  Join a sweepstakes, buy an old book, or adopt a loving pet. Check out our calendar of events for more events listings.

Saturday's Five:

1.     Add more books to your shelf.  The Hampton Bays Library holds a book sale for books, paperbacks, CDs and more.  This sale is every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Call the library at (631) 728-6241 for more details. 

2.     Town of Southampton Parks & Recreation will hold basic conditioning classes at the Lodge at Squiretown Park in Hampton Bays from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  These are on-going programs with the next program set to begin on October 30.  For more information and to register, call Town of Southampton Parks & Recreation at (631) 728-8585.

3.     Adopt a new pet. Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF) will host an adopt-a-thon at TD Bank at 191 West Montauk Hwy in Hampton Bays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. They will have dogs, cats, puppies and kittens available for adoption. 4.     If you're not in it, you can't win it. The Rotary Club of Hampton Bays is conducting ticket sales for their annual Supermarket Sweepstakes to benefit the Hampton Bays Food Pantry. The winner will receive a four-minute shopping spree on Nov. 9 at King Kullen in Hampton Bays, and may collect up to $1,000 in groceries. The drawing will be held on Nov. 8. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20 and are on sale today at King Kullen, after masses at St. Rosalie's on 11/6 and 11/7, or are available at the Hampton Bays Library, 52 Ponquogue Avenue, Hampton Bays.
