Nov. 1: A Driving Course, Walking and Basic Computer

The first day of November brings with it plenty to do in town.

Welcome to November, 2010.  It's a new week and a new month. You can join the Hampton Bays Beautification Association or just check them out tonight at the library. There is also a walking club and an AARP Driver Safety Course at the Library.

Monday's Five:

1.     The Hampton Bays Beautification Association is holding its monthly membership meeting tonight in the Hampton Bays Library from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. For more information on the Hampton Bays Beautification Association or to become a member, call (631) 723-0730 or e-mail president@hbba.net.

2.     Join the Senior Center's Walking Club. Town of Southampton Senior Services hosts a walking club every Monday.  The walk will begin indoors at the Southampton Town Recreation Center at 10:00 a.m.  A bus will pick up seniors at the Hampton Bays Senior Center. For more information or to register, call (631) 728-1235. 

3.     Learn basic computer or just brush up on what you already know. Town of Southampton Senior services holds computer classes every Monday and Friday at the Hampton Bays Senior Center from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Contact the Senior Center for more information at (631) 728-8585.

4.     Get into shape. Town of Southampton Senior Services holds stretching and toning classes every Monday and Friday at the Hampton Bays Senior Center.  All fitness levels are welcome and admission is free.  For more information, call (631) 728-135. 

5.     The library is offering a one-day AARP driver safety course from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The cost is $12.00 for AARP cardholders and $14.00 for non-cardholders. Registration is restricted to Hampton Bays and East Quogue residents only. You can register at the circulation desk or call 728-6241 for more information.
