Nellie Is a Social Butterfly

Bideawee of Westhampton has a number of pets available for adoption.

This week, Bideawee of Westhampton is looking to find a home for Nellie, a two-year-old cat.

According to Bideawee Adoption Associate Shannon Leonard, at two, Nellie has been through so much in her short life.

"Before even arriving at Bideawee, Nellie was abandoned as a pregnant mom-to-be at a local municipal shelter," said Leonard. "She gave birth to a litter of beautiful kittens, but thanks to the deplorable conditions she was living in, she and her kittens became very sick and sadly her kittens passed away due to illness."

Now, however, Leonard said Nellie is doing great.

"Despite all that she has been through, it hasn't altered her sweet and affectionate personality one bit," said Leonard. "She loves everyone she meets, and is quite the social butterfly."

The adoption fee for Nellie is $150. All of Bideawee’s pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccinations.  Bideawee’s pets receive socialization, exercise, behavioral training and other daily activities that let the staff get to know each animal's special personality, to make the best match for you.

To adopt Nellie or any other animal, call the Adoption Center at 631-325-0200 or visit them at 118 Old Country Road, Westhampton.
