Suffolk County Department of Health will be spraying some salt marshes in and around Westhampton on Tuesday night to control mosquito larvae.
According to the health department, spraying will take place over Apacuck Point
Stokes Poges, Moneybogue Bay, Westhampton Dunes, and Dune Road, and Stokes Poges, in the Remsenburg-Speonk area, between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Officials did not recommend any precaution, as the helicopter will be flying at a very low level over marsh areas and taking precautions to control drift into inhabited areas. Human exposure is unlikely and the products involved — methoprene — have no significant human toxicity, they said.
