More Snow Expected for East End

Mother Nature to drop another 2-4 inches.

More hazardous weather conditions are on the horizon — the National Weather Service has issued another winter weather advisory for the East End.

According to the weather service, the advisory is in effect for Eastern Long Island from 4 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday with “accumulating snow showers expected from Saturday evening into Sunday with strong gusty winds and cold winter chills.”

The weather service is reporting that another 2-4 inches is expected to fall with snow arriving sometime after 2 p.m.

The snow will taper off during the night with a slight chance of accumulating snow to fall before 8 a.m. on Sunday, according to the weather service.

Visibility during the snowfall is expected to be around 1 mile, occasionally around a half of a mile.

“Moderate snow will reduce visibilities and make for slippery roads, some pockets of blowing snow will be possible overnight,” reports the weather service.

The latest snowstorm comes on the heals of snowfall yesterday that was less than predicted. A was issued Thursday night, but was on Friday and replaced by a winter weather advisory.
