Mark Your Calendar: Upcoming Quogue Historial Society Events

On tap, are two history talks and the annual holiday house tour.

The Quogue Historical Society has three upcoming events, including its annual holiday house tour, set for Dec. 14. 

The following is a round-up of those events. So grab a pen and mark your calendar. 

Exhibition Talk: Whaling in Quogue: From Shore to the South Seas

On Sat., Nov. 23 at 11:30 a.m., the Quogue Historical Society will host a talk by Betsy McMahon, a teaching volunteer at the American Museum of National History, about Quogue's whaling history. The free talk will take place at the Pond House, 114 Jessup Avenue, Quogue.

Exhibition Talk: Through the Lens of George Bradford Brainerd: Quogue, ca. 1875

On Sat. Dec. 7, at 11:30 a.m. Julie Greene, a Quogue Historical Society curator will discuss the society's exhibition of photos by Brandford Brainerd, which were taken in 1875.  The free talk will take place at  the Pond House, 114 Jessup Avenue, Quogue.

Holiday House Tour 2013 

On Sat., Dec. 14, from 2:00 p.m. to 6 p.m., visit five Quogue houses beautifully decorated for the holidays. A cocktail party will follow from 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. Gold Level Tickets, which include the house tour and cocktail party are $125; Silver Level Tickets, which include the house tour and cocktail party are $85;  tickets for the house tour only are $40; and tickets for the cocktail party only are $40. All proceeds benefit the Quogue Historical Society.
