LI Kittens Pet of the Week: Clarice Needs a Second Chance

LI Kittens has pets who need loving homes.

LI Kitties Inc. of Speonk is looking to find a home for Clarice, a beautiful 1 year old calico that needs an understanding home, according to Sharon Ippolito, owner.

Clarice, said Ippolito, did not have it easy the first year of her life.

"She was rescued from a situation where someone was killing the stray cats," said Ippolito, who added that Clarice also tested positive for FIV and had a severe upper respiratory and eye infection, which took months of medication to clear up, said Ippolito.

"When she was well, she was put in a sanctuary for FIV+ cats.  All seemed well until this summer, when some of the older male cats decided to attack her continuously. You can see the scratches on her face.  She lived terrified for weeks until we had room to pull her out of there.  Clarice is sweet, but shy and fearful.  She needs a quiet home where she can feel safe and be loved.

She is negative for FELV, has been spayed and vaccinated.

If Clarice are not the pet you are looking for, Ippolito says she has other cats that need homes.
