Leaf Clean-Up Trucks on the Job in Hampton Bays

On Monday afternoon, the Highway Department's leaf clean-up trucks were spotted on Lyncliff Road in Hampton Bays.

Keeping to Hampton Bays residents, Highway Superintendent Alex Gregor's leaf clean-up trucks rolled down Lyncliff Road on Monday just in time for spring.

As previously reported by Westhampton-Hampton Bays Patch, residents in Hampton Bays have been because they say the published schedule for leaf pickup was not adhered to — their leafs have been sitting on curb since the fall.

Gregor has said a harsh winter has prevented the leaves from being collected and said the highway department is exploring a new leaf pick-up plan, which may require residents to drop their leaves off at collection stations.  Residents 77-years-old and older would be exempt and eligible for curb collection.
