June Is Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat Month

The Southampton Animal Shelter has many cats and kittens looking for homes.

This week, the is looking to find a home for all of its rescue cats.

Donald Bambrick, the animal shelter supervisor, said June is Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat Month and in honor of that, Southampton Animal Shelter is offering special adoption rates for its cats. The shelter will also be sponsoring several cat adoption events throughout the month.

"The events kick off the week of June 5 and will culminate on June 25 with our Divine Feline Extravaganza Adoptathon," Bambrick said.

The extravaganza will feature a bake sale, face painting, arts and crafts, raffles, cat behavior demonstrations and information for all cat lovers.

If a cat is not what you are looking for, the Southampton Animal Shelter has plenty of other animals that need love and care.

All animals are licensed, up to date on their vaccinations, micro-chipped and have been spayed or neutered, according to Bambrick.

Adoption fees range from $40 to $60 for a cat and from $60 to $125 for a dog. Ask about special feline adoption rates in June.
