HB Firefighters Remain Hospitalized After Fall While Battling a Blaze

Lewis Scott and Shea Lohr are said to be recuperating at Stony Brook University Hospital.

Of the five Hampton Bays fighter fighters, who were injured during a fire in the early hours of Monday, two remain hospitalized with second-degree burns to their necks, ears, arms and legs.

According to the Stony Brook University Hospital media relations department, firefighters Lewis Scott and Shea Lohr are both in good condition and are recuperating in the hospital’s burn unit.

The hospital could not release any further information.

The Hampton Bays Fire Department also said it could not comment on the status of the men, but did say information would be forthcoming.

The two fire fighters were injured while at 27 Quail Run at 12:18 a.m. on Monday.

According to Hampton Bays Fire Department Chief Stefan Borell, the firefighters fell into the basement of the home when the first floor collapsed soon after they arrived on scene.

Both firefighters were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital. One was taken by Suffolk County Police Medevac and the other by ambulance.

Three other firefighters, who were also injured at the scene, were treated and released from Southampton Hospital for minor injuries.
