Patch readers have spoken, naming Kym Smith, of East Quogue, as Westhampton-Hampton Bays Patch's Person of the Year for 2012.
Smith is the co-founder of The Hamptons Hurricane Relief Fund, which was created after Hurricane Sandy ripped through the area. With so many people left in need, Smith worked to collect donations filling trucks with food, clothing, cleaning supplies and construction materials to hard hit areas. The group continues to help as noted on its Facebook page.

Also, let's give a shout out to Anthony Galgano, a World War II army veteran from Hampton Bays and Edward Thompson, a member of the Hampton Bays Fire Department. They followed Smith closely in the voting.
Please congratulate Kym Smith. Leave a comment below.
