Hampton Bays Man Cycles to Green Bay For Charity

Rick Dignus of Hampton Bays and a friend are on a 1,000 mile bike journey to make it to the Green Bay Playoff game.

A joke has turned into a 1,000 bike trek for two friends, Rick Dignus, 44, of Hampton Bays and Kurt Seifert, 41 of Andover, Mass.

According to the Andover Townsman Online, Dignus and Seifert, who met on the job as bouncers on Long Island, started out from the National Battlefields of Manassas, Va. on Dec. 27 and plan to travel to Green Bay, Wisc. to raise money for Thanks U.S.A., Wall Street Warfighters and the National Math and Science Initiative.

But the men, neither of whom is a professional cycler, aren't just riding for charity — they have a bet to make it to the on Sunday.
