Found on YouTube: Great Blue Heron Feeding in Hampton Bays

See the bird in action in this video clip.

YouTube user Chris Paparo posted the above video in mid-February of a Great Blue Heron feeding while on Dune Road in Hampton Bays.

According to National Geographic, the Great Blue Heron is a native species to North America and the blue heron is one of the largest of all herons.

In Westhampton-- Great Blue's just love fish ponds. Before we screened it in we provided a few very healthy fresh fish meals to a Great Blue. It has not forgotten and still occassionally makes stops here to see if the lunch deck is open.

My great blue returns year after year to my wildlife pond in East Quogue. It is absolutely amazing to watch this magnificent heron as he hangs out in the pitch pines contemplating "dinner" :) http://www.flickr.com/photos/mariasducktales/5639376914/in/set-72157626542732592/
