Event Spotlight: 15th Annual Chili Chowder Contest

It's on. The Hampton Bays Chamber of Commerce 15th Annual Chili Chowder Contest is set for Sunday at noon at the Boardy Barn.

This year's contest, which raises money for the chamber's scholarship program, is expected to bring out nearly 600 people who will have the opportunity to try chili and chowder made by numerous contestants.

This year, local restaurants and individuals will compete to take the prize from the reigning chili champion, Catfish Bisagni and chowder champion, Cowfish.

Restaurants participating, include Shuckers and 1 North Steakhouse. Also competing is Steamfitters Local 638, which took first place in the people's division for their chili. 

The newest contestants this year are the Long Island Roller Rebels.

The event, which costs $10 for adults and $3 for children, will also feature free face painting for the kids, raffles, a chinese auction, and hot dogs.

"It is a great family event," said the Chamber.
