East Quogue, Remsenburg Gymnasts Place at Long Island Classic

The boys competed in Medford on Jan. 5

Three tumblers from Flip-Flop Gymnastics recently placed at the Long Island Classic competition, held in Medford.

According to owner Sue Caramore, Cole Federico, of Remsenburg and East Quogue students Max Pazera and Grant Gappelberg each took home medals from the men's competition, which was held on Jan. 5 at Gym-Nest.

Pazera, a veteran gymnast, who has hopes of competing in Olympic gymnastics in 2020, took first place in the all around at level 5 and first place in four of the six boys events while Cole Federico placed sixth on vault at level 5.

Grant Gappelberg, meanwhile took home a medal for 5th in the vault at level 4. It was his first competition.
