Do You Want to See a Farmer's Market in Hampton Bays?

Many Hampton Bays residents feel that Hampton Bays needs its own summer farmers market

This summer, two farm stands opened in Hampton Bays, one at the Hampton Nursery on Montauk Highway and another, called Sweet Woodland Farm on Old Squires Road. ย

Many Hampton Bays residents were thrilled to hear that they could purchase fresh veggies and fruits locally, but feel that Hampton Bays needs its own summer farmers market, similar to a popular market in Westhampton Beach, which features vendors from across the East End every Saturday.

One reader posted on Patch: "I would love to see Hampton Bays have their own Farmers Market. We have so many talented people living in this town with their own Homemade sauces & pies and home-grown veggies had hand-made items. After all - we are the Blue Collar town of the Hamptons!"

But it isn't just residents who want to see a farmer's market โ€” the creation of a farmers market just one thing that the group Concerned Citizens of Hampton Bays would like to see come to fruition.

In a recent interview with Patch, Mike Dunn, head of the Concerned Citizens, said that he believes a farmers market is just one way to help stimulate the local economy.
