Charlie Browns Grill To Host Saturday Night Benefit

CB's hopes to raise money for singer Bryan Clay.

It's been a while since Bob Drescher, owner of , has hosted a benefit at his Hampton Bays location, but when two women asked him if he would host the event for singer Bryan Clay, he couldn't say, no.

"Bryan has played for me a dozen times over the last several years with his band, Mojo, and I wanted to help," said Drescher.

According to Drescher, Clay, who hails from Shirley and is a maintenance worker for a Center Moriches camp for disabled children, was injured when a lawnmower blade picked up a steel rod, knocking it through his face while at work, causing damage to his jaw and face.

"He doesn't have insurance and we want to raise some money for him for medical bills," said Drescher. "We want him to be able to sing again."

For the benefit, which is being run by Sandy Houlsman of Hampton Bays and Bridget Costello of Center Moriches, Dreschler is donating both his bar and food. There will also be a Chinese auction and live music.
