Can You Identify This Historical Photo?

Local historians dig into their archives.

Each week, we will feature a local historical photo from the archives of either Sally Spanburgh, a Southampton preservation advocate, or the Hampton Bays Historical Society and ask readers to guess what is pictured, the date the photo was taken and/or what is there today.

If you think you know the answer, let us know in the comment section below. We will let you know if you're right next Sunday when we post the next photo challenge.

Last week's photo,
according to Brenda Berntson, was of Good Ground General Store also known as Squires General Store, Max Greenberg's and later Thompson's. It sat by the railroad tracks, near where King Kullen is now.

Bud Raynor recalled that post depression era Mr. Greenberg would extended credit to many residents in the community.

And Gary Davis  commented, "Next to the lighthouse this was probably the most well known landmark in town.
