Each week, we will feature a local historical photo from the archives of either Sally Spanburgh, a Southampton preservation advocate, or Brenda Berntson of the Hampton Bays Historical Society and ask readers to guess what is pictured, the date the photo was taken and/or what is there today.

If you think you know the answer, let us know in the comment section below. We will let you know if you're right next Sunday when we post the next photo challenge.

Last week's photo, according to Brenda Berntson, was of the Tiana Bay Shoreline after the 1938 hurricane.

Harvest, you hit it right on the head, Skip Hoag worked there after school in his high school days, and when he went to Fordham, I worked there when I was a senior in HS ('53). Great memories, thanks PATCH.

My mom (Edith) worked there for many years. Probably at the same time you did Bud.

I remember Adler's clothing store in the location mentioned but I thought he ran the 5 and 10 store prior to opening the clothing store. I guess my recollections are getting faulty.

There was Adler's clothing store 3 stores to the west of the 5&10. It went out of buisness probably around 1956. Manny's store was near the Methodist church. He originally did a dry cleaning and wet wash business, then it became a clothing store.

This was my family's store from 1969 -1979. Prior to my parents purchasing it, the Schonfelds, who lived next door to us on King St., owned it.
