Each week, we will feature a local historical photo from the archives of the  and ask readers to guess what is pictured, the date the photo was taken and/or what is there today.

Last week's photo, according to Brenda Berntson, was of Geenberg's Market on Ponquogue Ave. It is the current site of the Southampton town nutrition center, on corner of road going into King Kullen

Wobbly spinning stool tops, good burgers, shakes, malts, and Scotto is certainly carrying on the good food tradition....:)

My mother and aunt owned the Chocolate Shoppe for a few years during the 1970's. It made me sad when I visited a year ago and saw that the beautiful dark wood walls and mirrors had been covered over. Time marches on . . . . .

That was my mom's old shop. the pay phone was the booth kind made of wood and when i was little i ended up getting stuck inside it. i also remember playing in the windows.
