Cabin Fever Music Festival Underway: Snow Party at Jonsey's Friday Night

The music will continue every weekend through Feb. 23.

Helping to bring some life to the area's winter bar scene, several local residents have again organized the annual Cabin Fever Music Festival, which kicked-off Feb. 1 and will bring a snow party to Jonsey's in Westhampton Beach on Friday night.

"This is what Cabin Fever is all about," said Brendon Henry, one of the event's organizers.

Friday night's event, which starts at 10 p.m., will feature the music of The Old Ironsides, Terra Firma, and The Shipwrecks.

The bands are just three of a total of 20 that have agreed to participate in the sixth annual Cabin Fever Festival, which runs until Feb. 23 at 5 venues, including Buckley's Inn Between in Hampton Bays, Jonsey's in Westhampton Beach, Buckley's in Center Moriches and the Publick House in Southampton.

"This is the first year we have expanded west and are really pumped to incorporate a new crowd and new bands," said Henry, whose band Haunted Hacienda, will also be performing. "The East End is a community rich with talent in all the arts and we want to share these gems with everyone."

Henry said he personally booked each band, including new bands, Playing Dead, Kurt Baker, Family Knife Fight, Terra Firma, and Mash Up in an effort to bring variety to the festival.

"I think people really need to get out to some shows this year because they won't be sorry. I made sure to have a little something for everyone at every venue," he said.

All shows start at 10 p.m. and there is a $5 cover charge.
