Bideawee Pet of the Week: Scout

Bideawee has some loving pets available for adoption.

This week  is looking to find a home for Scout, a social and playful, one-year-old Shepherd mix, who enjoys meeting new people.

According to Deanna Murphy, the client care coordinator for Bideawee, Scout arrived at Bideawee after being rescued from a high-kill municipal shelter.

"Scout is seeking a family who can dedicate a great deal of time, patience, and special care to him," said Murphy.

Murphy says Scout is very intelligent and catches on quickly to everything he’s taught, but sadly, he also suffers from hip dysplasia and needs a family that can offer him the medical care he may need in the future.

"Due to his resource guarding, he’d be best in a home with children over 12," said Murphy. "However, he wouldn’t mind going to a home with other dogs, or even cats."

The adoption fee for Scout is $150. All of Bideawee’s pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Bideawee’s pets receive socialization, exercise, behavioral training and other daily activities that let the staff get to know each animal's special personality to make the best match.

To adopt Scout or any other animal, call the Adoption Center at 631-325-0200 or visit them at 118 Old Country Road, Westhampton.
