Bideawee Pet of the Week: Parnel

Bideawee has some loving pets available for adoption.

This week  is looking to find a home for Parnel, a sweet, 2 year old Soft-coated Wheaten Terrier mix.

According to Deanna Murphy, the client care coordinator for Bideawee, Parnel arrived at the shelter from a high-kill municipal shelter.

"He adores meeting new people, but he can be a little timid and bashful at first," said Murphy. "However, once he knows that you’re gentle and kind, he is extremely affectionate."

Murphy said Parnel sadly has tested positive for heartworm and will need continued treatments in his adoptive home, which Bideawee will continue to provide to the adoptive family.

She said, "Parnel is seeking a patient home, who will be committed to his treatments and recovery.  His condition requires he has minimal activity, until cleared by the veterinarian.  Therefore, a family with children over 9 is best."

The adoption fee for Parnel is $150. All of Bideawee’s pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Bideawee’s pets receive socialization, exercise, behavioral training and other daily activities that let the staff get to know each animal's special personality to make the best match.

To adopt Parnel or any other animal, call the Adoption Center at 631-325-0200 or visit them at 118 Old Country Road, Westhampton.
