Bideawee Pet of the Week: Mommy Cat

Bideawee has some loving pets available for adoption.

This week Bideawee of Westhampton is looking to find a home for Mommy Cat, a gorgeous and comical 5 year old gray and white Domestic shorthair.

According to Deanna Murphy, the client care coordinator for Bideawee, when Mommy Cat's beloved owner passed away, she and another cart where tragically left living alone in a home for two months.

"They were left to fend for themselves in a house without heat or running water," said Murphey.

"Thankfully," Murphey said, "a good samaritan discovered them in the house and routinely came to feed them, give them water, and eventually place the two cats at Bideawee.

"After being on her own for so long, Mommy Cat has grown shy towards people, and doesn’t like to be handled too much, but the Bideawee staff and volunteers have done their best to give her all of the socialization, TLC, and attention she needs and deserves.," said Murphy. "She is warming up to the staff nicely, but requires a patient, adult only home, with dedicated owners, who understand the trauma she has been through."

The adoption fee for Mommy Cat is $150. All of Bideawee’s pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Bideawee’s pets receive socialization, exercise, behavioral training and other daily activities that let the staff get to know each animal's special personality to make the best match.

To adopt Mommy Cat or any other animal, call the Adoption Center at 631-325-0200 or visit them at 118 Old Country Road, Westhampton.

P. Killian, Thanks for asking. We just reached out to State police. They are doing seatbelt checks.
