Bideawee Pet of the Week: Major

Bideawee of Westhampton has a number of pets available for adoption.

This week, is looking to find a home for Major, a sweet, one-year-old Labrador Retriever mix, who enjoys long strolls on our property and playtime at the Dog Park at Bideawee

According to Deanna Murphy, the client care coordinator for Bideawee, Major arrived at Bideawee after a good samaritan rescued him from the roadside, where Major was wandering around alone next to a busy highway.

"He can be shy when meeting new people; however, the staff has been working diligently with him and now Major warms up quickly," Murphy said. "He is a large and active boy, who loves exercise, play, and the company of other dogs.

Major, Murphy said is seeking a loving, patient forever family, with children over 9, who are willing to let him become comfortable at his own pace, will continue to train him, and who will keep up with his energy.

The adoption fee for Major is $150. All of Bideawee’s pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Bideawee’s pets receive socialization, exercise, behavioral training and other daily activities that let the staff get to know each animal's special personality to make the best match.

To adopt Major or any other animal, call the Adoption Center at 631-325-0200 or visit them at 118 Old Country Road, Westhampton.
