It's nothing but snow as far as the eye can see. So, what's there to do? Dig out the sled of course.
A reader asked us where the best places to sled were, so we took to our Facebook page and posed the question. Here's a round up of responses. Please be aware some areas named may have restrictions.
Chris Con said "From the list of inappropriate / unsafe spots I had the pleasure of sledding as a child — Spinney Hills, The East Quogue Sump off Kennedy Ave, East Coast Mines also in East Quogue. For an actual nice family safe spot? East Quogue elementary has a decent (and safe) hill.
Pat Burke Frost wrote, "There is a small hill for young kids behind the Westhampton Beach elementary school."
Chris Con also mentioned, "For parents- Shinnecock golf course has had some great sledding in the past.. I'm not sure what their current policy is with allowing families/sledders."
Victoria Hedberg Kingwell said, "And don't forget the power lines off Pleasure Drive!"
And Virginia Shene Whitelaw responded, "The 'Hill' in East Quogue.
Now it's your turn: Do you have a favorite spot you like to go sledding? Share it in the comment section. Have fun, stay safe and be sure to share your sledding photos by uploading them here.
