Benefit Set for Musician Who Lost Home in Fire

The event will be held on Jan. 20 at Cowfish in Hampton Bays.

When a fire ravished the Mastic home of musician Bryan Clay, who graduated Hampton Bays High School, and his wife, Carol, everything was lost — Not only was their home unlivable, but lost were Bryan's treasured instruments, including a piano and autographed guitars, and 14 cats that Carol took care of for the Long Island Spay & Neuter Fund.

Their home caught fire on Dec. 8 and was found burned to the ground after coming home from Clays birthday celebration — the couple had no insurance on their home.

To help the couple back on their feet, Hampton Bays resident Timothy Bennett, who is Clay's brother, is putting on a benefit at Cowfish in Hampton Bays on Martin Luther King Day, Jan. 20 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

"Bryan and Carol are so generous to the community, on all holidays, they open their doors to anyone alone or who needs a meal," said Bennett. "We need help from the community to rebuild their home."

The event will feature raffles, music and karaoke and food. The cost:$30 donation.
