Beautification Committee Honors 'Angel of the Year' and Area Businesses

Grace Daly has been selected as this year's 'Angels of the Year' and Squiretown Restaurant, Francesa's and Carvel were recognized for improving their properties.

The Hampton Bays Beautification Association is set to name Grace Daly as the organization's 2013 'Angel of the Year' at its annual holiday luncheon, set for Oaklands on Wednesday.

Daily is being surprised with the award.

"Grace is receiving this award for her contributions as a director and chairperson of many Hampton Bays Beautification Association's events such as the annual garden party and the holiday luncheon," said Susan VonFreddie, head of the committee. "Grace is a volunteer extraordinaire."

According to VonFreddie, Daily, who has lived in Hampton Bays since 2001,ย is also a trustee of the Hampton Bays Library and an active member of the East End Hospice. She was active in the Visiting Nurse Services and received her doctorate atย Columbia University.

Of the honor, Daily's husband Mike said, "She is always ready to volunteer."

In addition to honoring Daily, the association will also be recognizing local businesses that have improved their properties over the past year, including Squiretown Restaurant, Francesa's and Carvel.
