Video: Beach Bakery Expansion Project On Schedule

The entire project will be done by Mid-June.

On Wednesday afternoon, Simon Jorna, owner on the Beach Bakery on Main Street in Westhampton Beach was busy over seeing his $2.5 million expansion project.

Working day and night, Jorna said the project is on schedule with permits for his new bakery production and storage area expected to be in place just before Memorial Day weekend.

Jorna, who takes great pride in the project, overseeing every detail right down to the outdoor sconces, said that once the permits are approved, he can then move on to finish the new seating area and counter space.

That space, he said will be transformed from a 12-seat bakery into a 32-seat luncheonette.

The project, which is doubling the size of the location, also includes the renovation of a second-floor apartment, which Jorna said will feature an outdoor roof patio.

Additional rear parking is also being added.

The renovations, which put the bakery into compliance with a number of village code violations, will be done by mid June, Jorna said.
