Bald Eagles Spotted at the Quogue Wildlife Refuge

The last time a Bald Eagle was spotted at the refuge was about three years ago.

On any given day, visitors to the Quogue Wildlife Refuge in Quogue can spot an assortment of wild animals, but it would be rare occasion to observe a Bald Eagle or two.

But, that is just what happened earlier this week when two Bald Eagles were spied near the Old Ice Pond.

According to the refuge's Facebook Page, the birds, which are protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, were observed for about a half an hour before flying off.
