Adopt Tabitha, A Domestic Shorthair or a Puppy

The Southampton Animal Shelter and Bideawee have some loving animals for adoption.

This week, both Bideawee of Westhampton and the of Hampton Bays have special pets available for adoption.

Bideawee is looking to find a home for Tabitha, a 9-year-old, domestic shorthair cat.

According to Amy Hraniotis, event manager for Bideawee, Tabitha arrived at Bideawee with her best friend Butterscotch, when, sadly, their former owner abandoned them in the parking lot of Bideawee’s facility.

"Butterscotch found a home right away, but Tabitha is still waiting for the right person to come along," said Hraniotis.  "She is a beautiful and sweet girl who is the official 'greeter' of the Kitty Cat Habitat at Bideawee."

Hraniotis says  Tabitha is affectionate, outgoing, and loves people.

The adoption fee for Tabitha is $150 and all Bideawee adopter’s receive a free, one-on-one training session and a free visit at the Westhampton Bideawee Veterinary Practice.  To adopt Prince or any other animal, call the Adoption Center at 631-325-0200 or visit them at 118 Old Country Road, Westhampton.

According to Hraniotis, all of Bideawee’s pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccinations.  Bideawee’s pets receive socialization, exercise, behavior training and other daily activities that let our staff get to know each animal's special personality, so that we can make the best match for you.

Over at the Southampton Animal Shelter, Donald Bambrick, animal shelter supervisor says the shelter is looking to find a home for Paloma, Rio, Baja, Poncho, Sierra and Café, 12-week old Pointer type puppies.

Bambrick, said the puppies just came up from Puerto Rico with their mom, Blanca.

"All were transferred from a rescue group in Rincon, Puerto Rico and now we’re helping them find their forever homes." said Bambrick.

If a puppy is not the type of pet you are looking for, there are plenty of other animals that need love and care.

All animals are licensed, up to date on their vaccinations, micro-chipped and have been spayed or neutered, according to Bambrick.

Adoption fees range from between $40 and $60 for a cat and $60 and $125 for a dog.

To adopt a puppy or any of the other animals available for adoption, call the shelter at 631-728-7387 or visit 102 Old Riverhead Rd in Hampton Bays.
