Adopt Mia, A 3-Year-Old Long-Haired Cat

This week, the is looking to find a home for Mia, a 3-year-old buff and white long-haired cat. Her adoption fee has been waived in honor of .

Donald Bambrick, the animal shelter supervisor, said Mia is shy, but sweet and came into the shelter with her sister, Bella. 

"They were abandoned at a pet sitter's home when their owner never returned," Bambrick said. "Bella was recently adopted and now it's Mia's turn."

If Mia is not the type of pet you are looking for, there are plenty of other animals that need love and care.

All animals are licensed, up to date on their vaccinations, micro-chipped and have been spayed or neutered, according to Bambrick.

Adoption fees range from between $40 and $60 for a cat and $60 and $125 for a dog.
