Area students have accomplished a lot over the past year.
Over the past year, area students from Westhampton and Hampton Bays have accomplished some amazing things at school. The following is a look back and tribute to some of those students.
Three Westhampton Beach Lacrosse Players Sign Letters of Intent
Three Westhampton Beach High School lacrosse players signed national college letters of intent at a ceremony at the school in November.
According to the school district, senior athletes Alexa Smith, Evan Gagne and Zoe Recchion each received scholarship money as a result of their athletic and academic prowess.

Among the students honored were fourth-grader Emily Meyer, fifth-grader Emel Barry and junior Mackenzie Engeldrum.
Westhampton Beach Students Noted for Musical Talent
Four Westhampton Beach High School students were recognized for their musical abilities in October.
Three of the students, Alexandra Fee, along with Luke Jurow and Katherine Pulsonetti have been selected to perform at the New York State School Music Association All-State performance ensembles while Connor Regan has been picked to perform in a National Association for Music Education All-National ensemble.

The Hampton Bays School District named Harry Fotopoulos as Valedictorian and Jesse Dubrowsky as Salutatorian for the 2013 graduating class.
Local Students Take Home Teenys
In June, Westhampton Beach students took home hardware for roles in 'Arsenic and Old Lace,' with the lead actor in a drama award going to an Eastport-South Manor student.

Art Student Wins Trip to Cayman Islands
In March, Sofia Solano Cruz won a vacation to the Cayman Islands after Cruz won first place in a contest, sponsored by the Beneath the Sea organization. The contest was created to make young people aware of some of the perils faced by marine creatures. Cruz's poster, which she designed in Debra McDowell’s art class is a picture of a girl at the grocery store, which had signs posted reading “Do Not Buy Shark Products.” In the color drawing, the girl has a “no sharks” illustration bubble above her head.
East Quogue Band Students Perform at Islanders Game
The students go an opportunity to show off their skills at a game held in March.
Westhampton Beach Choir Singer Performs During Inauguration
In January, students from the Stony Brook School Chamber Choir performed in Washington D.C.
Nicasia Beebe-Wang Named Intel Finalist
In January, Nicasia Beebe-Wang, a senior at Westhampton Beach High School has been named an Intel finalist, one of the nation's most prestigious pre-college science competitions.
