Family Service League Offers Counseling, Referral Assistance

Family Service League, one of Long Island’s largest non-profit human services agencies, is living up to their mantra “Restoring Hope. Rebuilding Lives” by offering crisis intervention counseling and information and referral services to individuals and families impacted by Hurricane Sandy.

Crisis intervention will help people affected by superstorm Sandy benefit from emotional first aid.  Professional counselors are available to listen and offer suggestions as how to cope with the situation at the following locations or by telephone:

  • Riverhead Family Center: 631-369-0104; 208 Roanoke Avenue, Riverhead, NY 11901
  • Iovino South Shore Family Center: 631-647-3100; 1444 Fifth Avenue, Bay Shore, NY 11706
  • Brookhaven Family Center: 631-924-3741; 1490 William Floyd Parkway, Yaphank, NY 11967

The information and referral services will assist individuals in assessing their immediate needs in the wake of the storm and connect them with community resources that can provide additional help.  Resources for food, clothing, entitlements and other immediate needs can be identified and contacted.  Assistance is available at the following locations or by telephone:

  • Riverhead Family Center: 631-369-0104; 208 Roanoke Avenue, Riverhead, NY 11901
  • Iovino South Shore Family Center: 631-647-3100; 1444 Fifth Avenue, Bay Shore, NY  11706
