On Saturday, Troop 483 held our 2nd Food drive of the year at the store in Hampton Bays. Food drives are just one facet of our community service work in town, but we consider them to be very important.
The troop collected a total of 515 lbs of Food (1/4 Ton) in just 4 hours. I would like to thank the following Scouts for their work today.

These Scouts should be very proud of the results of their service.
Well done Scouts!
Last year, the Troop collected a total of 2,140 lbs of food for the entire year and this year, to date, with only two Food Drives under our belt, we have already collected 845 lbs of food for the St. Rosalie's Food Pantry. As a part of our Community Service program, the Troop holds food drives each month of the year.
The Troop will be participating in the Hampton Bays St. Pat's Parade on Sat., March 24 and we will be Camping at Squiretown Park again that weekend along with Troop 58 from Southampton to continue our Community Service work at the Park.
If you would like to find out about joining the Scouts, the Suffolk County Scout Base is going to be set up on the front lawn of the Anderson Warner hall on Montauk Hwy during the Parade. The Scouts will be demonstrating many different Scouting Skills and you can talk to Scout Leaders to answer all your questions about Scouting and how to get involved.
